Nuclear fusion research for energy applications aims to create conditions that release more energy than required to initiate the fusion process1. To generate meaningful amounts of energy, fuels such as deuterium need to be spatially confined to increase the collision probability of particles2,3,4. We therefore set out to investigate whether electrochemically loading a metal lattice with deuterium fuel could increase the probability of nuclear fusion events. Here we report a benchtop fusion reactor that enabled us to bombard a palladium metal target with deuterium ions. These deuterium ions undergo deuterium–deuterium fusion reactions within the palladium metal. We showed that the in situ electrochemical loading of deuterium into the palladium target resulted in a 15(2)% increase in deuterium–deuterium fusion rates. This experiment shows how the electrochemical loading of a metal target at the electronvolt energy scale can affect nuclear reactions at the megaelectronvolt energy scale.

    Energy Release in Deuterium–Constantan Interactions

A significant energy release over a short time is achieved in replicable experiments involving the interaction of deuterium gas with constantan specimens. The experiments were carried out in a gas chamber where the injected deuterium interacted with heated specimens: (i) Many replicable experiments were performed at initial temperatures in the range of 666–681 °C. The temperatures of the specimens began to increase ~8 s after the beginning of deuterium injection as additional increases of 358–382 °C reached after ~30 s. The released excess power was in the range of 183–209 W, its density ranged from ~114–130 W/g, and the ratio of (output power)/(input power) was ≈ 3.76–3.91. (ii) Several replicable experiments were performed at initial temperatures of 950 °C. In all these experiments, explosive evaporation of the wires occurred immediately after the beginning of deuterium injection. The released excess momentary power was greater than 3400 W, its density was 2280 W/g, and the ratio of (output power)/(input power) was ≈ 16 and greater. The outcomes found were as follows: (a) the released excess power was not of electrical origin; (b) the released excess power of chemical origin was less than ~0.18% of the total released excess power; (c) the significant density of the released excess power; and (d) helium release, correlating with the energy release, was observed. The conclusion that the released energy is of nuclear origin was drawn.

We present a theoretical framework for quantum phenomena in ultra-dense hydrogen (UDH) subjected to fast-pulsed electromagnetic fields, integrating quantum energy teleportation (QET), vacuum squeezing, and lepton-boson condensates. Metastable neutral bosonic states-for example (e − µ −) and (µ − ν −)-form coherently in UDH clusters. Their field-induced collapse yields energy redistribution, free neutrons without helium formation, and a pseudoparticle χ − whose decay characteristics resemble those of the muon (τ ≈ 2.2 µs). The model unifies reported anomalies in low-energy nuclear reactions (LENR), hydrogen Rydberg matter (HRM), and UDH laser studies via coherent vacuum-matter coupling, potentially enabling controlled vacuum excitations. All claims are grounded in established quantum-field principles, though experimental verification remains controversial and requires independent replication.

Building on Wyttenbach’s SO(4) analysis of the proton-which predicts an α-quantised ladder of magnetic-moment relaxations at 2.002 keV, 4.03 keV, and higher, along with a half-harmonic near 1 keV-this expanded framework (i) elucidates how keV-scale magnetic resonances initiate and diagnose ultra-dense hydrogen (UDH) formation ; (ii) demonstrates how multi-proton fusion surpasses the 53 MeV threshold for K + /K 0 creation, enabling a K → π → µ cascade within mesoscopic targets; and (iii) embeds SO(4) toroidal modes in an extended F 3 ×SO(10)×U (1) X gauge symmetry that accommodates Φ-boson lepton pairs, dark-sector interactions, and topological solitons. The unification bridges 500 eV chemistry, keV spectroscopy, 100 MeV lepton physics, and potential quantum-gravity tresonances at 0.5 keV, anyon excitations in UDH con-densates, and muon-catalysed feedback loops for enhanced LENR yields. The model addresses long-standing criticisms by proposing testable replications and provides a roadmap for compact muon sources, isotope production, and advanced propulsion. *
